In a statement from the Public Relations Officer of the Enugu State Police Command, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, on Wednesday, Adamu said the warning became necessary to sustain the existing peace enjoyed by the members of the public in the state.
“l want to use this opportunity to urge all political parties in Enugu State to be law abiding before, ,during and after the elections as contained in the electoral guidelines,’’ the statement quoted him as saying at a meeting with stakeholders.
“The security operatives have been mobilised to monitor the activities of all those concerned in the election for necessary action.
“Do not use the youths as thugs to cause mayhem during and after the election because anyone caught will face the full wrath of the law’’, the Commissioner said.
The statement also quoted the Chairman of Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, Dr Boniface Eneh, as saying that there was the need for parties, candidates and their supporters to abide by the electoral law.
According to the statement, the interactive meeting was attended by all the political parties, the ENSIEC and heads of other security agencies in the state.
