APC/ nPDP Merger Not Credible Political Alternative – NCG

The National Consolidation Group (NCG), operating under the fold of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  said yesterday  that,  the decision  of the G-5  out of the G7 breakaway governors  to  join the All Progressives Congress (APC)  in their alleged bid to rescue the country is not a credible political alternative.
The group, in a statement signed by its national chairman, Hon. Ajon Ugboho,  after  an emergency meeting,  described the defection of the 5 governors  styled as merger against the PDP as a routine political activity, capable of broadening and deepening Nigeria’s political culture as well as strengthen the on-going democratisation process.
According to Ugboho, the  split which often serve as  a prelude to every election year is no longer strange, since some section of the opposition and a smattering of elements from the ruling PDP  would always go about preaching a homily against purported ills of the party ‘s leadership , in an obvious bid for greater political latitude and relevance.
While restating its abiding faith in the multi-party democracy as a bedrock for the much  desired  peace, progress and good governance of the nation, the  group urged the opposition to resist the temptation to make cheap political capital out of the routine political developments.
The national chairman expressed optimism that rather loss it grip on the nation, the ruling PDP is indeed  more than ever unified, purposefully focused, mobilised and competition –ready for all future electoral contests, under the focused leadership of Alhaji . Bamanga Tukur .
He revealed that the group, as a body of loya l and committed followers of the party is working across the length and breadth of Nigeria to ensure the actualisation of the victorious emergence of the party at the next round of electoral contest in the country, laying emphasis on the victory of the Goodluck/ Sambo presidential pairing in 2015.
