Industrialists to mobilise votes for Ngige

ONITSHA – Captains of industries in Onitsha, Anambra State may have concluded arrangements to mobilise not less than 18,000 workers in the cluster to vote for the Anambra state All progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate Senator Chris Ngige in Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
Chairman of the industrialists and Chief Excutive Officer,  Pokobros Group West Africa Limited, Chief Paul Okonkwor  who disclosed this yesterday while speaking on behalf of his colleagues when they received Ngige and his campaign train in Onitsha, recalled that it was Ngige who made the Onitsha Harbour Industrial Layout  passable by constructing the Onitsha/Atani/Ogwuikpele road during his regime.
Okonkwor who maintained that the APC candidate  has also pledged to revolutionize industrial growth in the state if re-elected governor, quoted Ngige as saying that he would also inject 300 mega watts of electricity to Ontisha industrial cluster to accelerate production of commodities.
Earlier, Ngige had during his speech, said that apart from electricity problem, multiple taxation was another problem confronting industrial growth in the state.
Ngige also regretted lack of security in the state, admitting that it would be difficult to record growth in an unsafe environment.
He said: “If I become governor again, I know what to do to promote your business. We will eliminate kidnapping through industrial growth, my government will be industrialization friendly.”
He also promised to construct major roads in the industrial cluster and improve on other facilities in the area.
During  stops of the Campaign  train in the riverine areas of Anambra West Local Government Area, Ngige promised to dualize the Onitsha/33/Aguleri road to open up the area in anticipation of increased socio-economic activities and anticipated  exploration of oil in the Omambala  River basin.
Ngige who also vowed to link Onitsha to Kogi through Oroma-Etiti and Nzam to reduce the distance between Onitsha and Abuja, told the people that the choice of Hon. Ralph Okeke who hails from the LGA as his deputy, was informed by his desire to address the injustice meted on the people of the area and promised to modernise the LGA through proper urban planning as well as mechanised agriculture.
Also speaking at Iyiowa Odekpe, Ngige pledged to institute free malaria treatment in the State within two years of being elected to office and also to re-introduce sanitation inspectorate system to ensure a clean and healthy environment.
