Trading activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) yesterday recorded loss as market capitalisation shed N56.31 billion to close at N12.07 trillion from an opening of N12.12 trillion.
The All-Share Index also went down by 176.25 points, representing 0.46 per cent depreciation to close at 37,772.86 as against 37,949.11 points recorded to close trading on Wednesday.
However, the market breadth closed positive with 55 price movements — 30 gainers and 25 losers. MRS Plc led the gainers’ chart with N4.42 kobo to close at N47.63 kobo per share from an opening of N43.21 kobo per share. Conoil Plc also gained N7.05 kobo to close at N76.00 kobo per share, while Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc went up by N0.30 kobo to close at N3.30 kobo per share.
However, Cutix Nigeria Plc led on the losers’ table shedding N0.09 kobo per share to close at N1.76 kobo per share, Neimeth Plc lost N0.05 kobo to close at N0.99 kobo per share and Livestock Plc shed N0.16 kobo per share to close trading for the day at N3.42 kobo per share.
At the close of trading, a total of 278.73 million shares valued at N2.93 billion were exchanged by investors in 4,358 deals.
