Delta Assembly passes 2013 Appropriation Amendment Bill

Delta  State House of Assembly, yesterday,  in Asaba, passed the state’s 2013 Appropriation Amendment Bill authorizing the spending of re-ordered N58.2 billion.
The passage of the bill followed the presentation of the report by the Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Mr Daniel Mayuku.
The state governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, had on October 22, forwarded the bill for amendment.
Presenting the report, Mayuku said that N58.2 billion was re-ordered to provide for the augmentation of earlier appropriations for some projects.
He enumerated the projects to include the dualisation of Ugbenu-Koko Road, Ughelli-Asaba dual carriage way and construction of flyovers in Asaba and Warri,
Other project are the upgrading of selected secondary schools in the state, dualisation of old Lagos-Agbor road and procurement of modern tractors and other equipment for farmers in the state.
