Following the defection of Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the youth members of PDP in Kano State under the aegis of PDP Youth Stakeholders Forum have described the governor as ungrateful.
Sequel to the defection of Governor Kwankwaso, the youth group has called on the son of the late head of state General Sani Abacha, Mohammed Abacha to run for the governorship position of the state in 2015, while describing his entry into the PDP as a welcomed development.
A press release issued at the end of the group’s emergency meeting and signed by the convener Barrister Abubakar Aminu Kurawa and made available to LEADERSHIP in Kaduna yesterday said that after taking stocks of the entire political confusion in the state, especially the defection of Governor Kwankwaso to the opposition APC it convened emergency meeting and decided as follows:
“That the defection of the governor and a handful of his supporters to the APC, after having immensely benefitted from the party since 1999 when he was first elected as the executive governor of the state is a clear show of ingratitude of the highest order, and thus condemned and rejected by us.
“By this we reject Kwankwaso, his Kwankwasiyya and those few unscrupulous elements that follow him to the APC”.
The youth group expressed their determination to ensure the political downfall of the governor in 2015.
“We want assure to Kwankwaso and his cohorts, that he will not only lose in the 2015 elections, but we will make sure that we disgrace him at the polls. This is not a threat, it’s a promise,” the group stressed.
