Sokoto State deputy governor and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sokoto State, Alhaji Mukhtar Shagari has described the defection of former Governor Attahiru Bafarawa from APC to PDP as a good development that will foster the strength of the PDP in Sokoto State and the nation in general.
According to a statement made available to LEADERSHIP, Shagari made the assertion after addressing hundreds of his supporters who visited his house yesterday in Sokoto.
He noted that Bafarawa is “an asset, a political bridge builder, mobiliser and an embodiment of political intellect whose political ideologies of openness, transparency and all inclusive policy are cherished by all not only in Sokoto State or the North but also Nigeria in general”.
He stressed that with the coming of Bafarawa aboard the PDP train, there is assurance of stable and political cohesion in Sokoto State which will bring political development and provide clear chances of winning Sokoto State and the nation in the 2015 election.
