Members of the House of Representatives yesterday asked the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to honour its agreement of granting automatic party tickets to its members for the 2015 elections.
Making this reminder yesterday during a meeting of the PDP Reps caucus with the national chairman of the party, Adamu Muazu, PDP governors led by its chairman Godswill Akpabio and members of its national working committee, leader of the House of Representatives, Hon Mulikat Akande-Adeola (PDP, Oyo) also added that they wanted their welfare improved and the opportunity to also nominate members of committees from their constituencies.
Akande-Adeola, who said this while presenting the welcome remarks at the meeting, was re-echoing the demands of members of the caucus who had, during several executive meetings in the House, named automatic tickets as one of the prerequisites for unreserved loyalty to the party.
Present at the meeting was Speaker Aminu Tambuwal, deputy speaker Emeka Ihedioha, leader of the House and other members of the House PDP leadership, the national chairman of the party, Adamu Muazu, PDP governors of Ramalan Yero (Kaduna), Aliyu Muazu (Niger), Theodore Orji (Abia), Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta), Dakingari Usman (Kebbi), Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom) Liyel Imoke (Cross River), Peter Obi (Anambra, APGA) and Olusegun Mimiko (Ondo, Labour Party), and deputy governor of deputy governor of Jigawa, Ahmed Mahmud and his Kogi State counterpart.
