This is sequel to yesterday’s bomb blasts in Maiduguri which he represents in the House of Representatives.
Gujbawu in a press statement he personally signed, described the renewed violence in Maiduguri, the state capital, after an interrupted reign of peace, as a rude shock.
According to him, proceedings of the last two days which culminated in the explosion of IEDs in Maiduguri calls for thorough investigation.
In the statement, entitled, “Not again, enough of this rubbish”, Gujbawu said: “All the security apparatuses in Nigeria should stand on their toes and stop the senseless violence in the region .I extend my sympathy to the families and victims of this callous and inhuman attack.
“I am also calling on the security chiefs to apply utmost wisdom in handling the crises so as not to scuttle the friendly collaboration with the youths that helped in restoring peace in Maiduguri.”
Vanguard recalls that barely 72 hours after Borno State governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, was pelted with stones and a former governor of the state, Alhaji Ali Modu Sherrif’s convoy was mobbed, fresh violence had erupted in Maiduguri which had enjoyed relative peace in the last six months.
