The minister made the disclosure in Asaba during the foundation laying ceremony of the cargo terminal.
She said the terminal had been designed to have the capacity to carry about 6,000 metric tonnes of goods.
She urged government and people of Delta to take advantage of the terminal to boost Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and export their agricultural produce.
According to her, the terminal will also help farmers in Delta to be employers of labour.
“For every one hectare, 10 jobs will be created and the aviation sector is the pivot to drive this industry”, the minister said.
Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan said the terminal was line with the “Delta Beyond Oil’’ agenda of his administration.
“The cargo terminal is key to our success in agriculture. We are glad that we have started. It is line with Mr President’s ambition to empower our people,” he said.
The governor pledged the Delta government determination to support the project to ensure that it was completed on scheduled. (NAN)
