The association, which received government recognition since 1975 and has its members represented at the on-going National Conference, is also pushing for a total reform of our land tenure and tilting system to make them development friendly in Nigeria.

Speaking at a press conference on the occasion of the inaugural council meeting of the association in Abuja, Olorogun James Omeru, the president, the president of NIESV said the association is repositioned under his leadership to ensure capacity building through restructuring of our educational curriculum and retraining of practioners, encourage public advocacy to ensure that the profession is accorded it’s rightful place in the scheme of things in our nation and ensure the commencement of the development of a befitting house for the association.

He however noted that in achieving proper valuation of properties and management of property and facilities management, there is the need for the Estate Surveyors and Valuers to take their place in the society; and this will be his major target.
