Recall that three people were reportedly kidnapped along Ibusa-Ogwashi Uku road and were later rescued by the police who arrested three members of the kidnap gang who are currently being detained by the police at the state CID in Asaba.
The kidnap survivor said her abductors had resolved to use her blood for ritual sacrifice but later jettisoned the plan following her persistence in singing praises to God.
Narrating her ordeal in the hands of the kidnap gang, she said, “I was taken away in a car to an unknown destination while I was returning from a church programme on that fateful day. My abductors blindfolded me and took me to a thick forest where they kept me and I started singing gospel songs even when they threatened to kill me.”
Speaking further, the victim said her abductors demanded a ransom of N40 million which her children were unable to raise but the whole time, “I sang melodious songs to God and they felt threatened by my songs and one of them who brought bread for me to eat said they were tired of this ‘holy holy woman’.”
