Man Remanded For Allegedly Raping 26-Yr-Old Lady

An Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court on Thursday remanded Kunle Owotuyi,38,in prison for allegedly raping a 26-year-old lady.

The police prosecutor, Cpl. Monica Ikebuilo, told the court that the accused committed the offence on April 29 at Erinjiyan-Ekiti.

Ikebuilo alleged that the accused on the said date unlawfully raped the lady without her consent.
She said the offence contravened section 358 of the Criminal Code, Cap C 16, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.

The prosecutor said she had forwarded the case file to the Directorate of Public prosecution(DPP) for legal advice.

The plea of the accused was not taken while his counsel, Mr Sola Fapohunda, sought for adjournment pending receipt of legal advice.

Magistrate Doyin Akosile remanded the accused in prison and adjourned the case till June 2 for further hearing.(NAN)
