Niger State governor, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu has admonished the people of the state not to compromise themselves by selling their votes in 2015 but vote for credible leaders as the ruling Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) would not buy votes in the general elections in the state.

Aliyu who stated this yesterday at Government House, Minna said if they sell their votes and allowed them to be bought by politicians; they would be compromising the future of their children and development of the state.

He said his call was based on the premise that  some politicians  in the state have been going round the various constituencies to  allegedly buy the votes of the voters  ahead 2015.

Aliyu  said the PDP in the state would not embark on the illegal act of inducing voters or buying their votes adding that the performance of the party  was enough to endear it to the electorate in 2015.

According to him his administration will continue to judiciously use all the financial resources available to the state to better the lot of the people instead of embarking on the unconstitutional act of buying people’s votes.

The governor expressed satisfaction that the administration has been able to ensure peaceful coexistence among the diverse communities resident in the state which he said accounted for lack of unrest or religious disturbance in any part of the state before asking the people to be more security conscious and report people with suspicious motives to the authorities.

Aliyu reiterated that his prayer was that someone from  his cabinet should succeed him in 2015 so that the laudable programmes started will be continued while urging PDP members in Zone C where the governorship has been zoned to work together so as to present a formidable candidate that will not only win the primaries but the election proper.
