Gunmen behead man, kill girl in Plateau

Jos – Two persons have been reportedly killed in the early hours of Sunday by unknown attackers at Rafin Bwaunan Noma community in Bassa Local government Area of Plateau State.

A resident of the community, Malam Yusuf Usman alleged the attackers “came in from Gero, a neighboring community of Jos South Local Government Area.”

He said the attackers killed the people while they were working on their farm, “they surrounded and fired gun shots at them.”

He disclosed those killed were a man, 41years old Abdullahi Hassan and a 14 years old girl, Hannatu Safiyanu adding, “as I speak with you the attackers have beheaded the man.”

Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Special Task Force, STF media/information officer Captain Ikedichi Iweha, has confirmed the incident saying, it was an act of armed robbery.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, PRPO, ASP Abuh Emmanuel said, “I heard it but not from the official source who can give authentic report. I trying to get across to the DPO of Bassa, when I hear from him, I will get back to you.”
