The Governor of Enugu State, Mr. Sullivan Chime has charged his new
Chief of Staff, Mr. Victor Nnanna Atuonwu to bring his wealth of
experience to bear in the service of the state.
The Governor gave the charge when he swore-in the new Chief of Staff
at a very colourful but brief ceremony inside the Executive Council
Chambers of the Government House, Enugu.
Governor Chime described Mr. Atuonwu as a very close associate whom he
had known for a long time and wished him the best and successful
tenure in the discharge of his official assignment. According to the
Governor “I welcome Mr. Atuonwu on board, he will fit-in and he will
serve the state well.”
The State Chief Executive also used the occasion to pay a glowing
tribute to the former Chief of Staff, Mrs. Ifeoma Nwobodo for her good
works and dedicated service to his administration and Enugu State.
In his words, “It has not been easy to replace the Chief of Staff that
served very well. In the history of the state, we do not have any
Chief of Staff that served all that long, it is a feat for one to
serve seven years and willingly.”
Responding, the new Chief of Staff, Mr. Atuonwu thanked the Governor
for the appointment and confidence reposed on him and said God being
my helper, I will justify the confidence.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by the Atuonwu family, friends
and well wishers.
Until his appointment, Mr. Atuonwu was the Special Assistant to the
Governor on Treasury and Investment.

Chime reaffirms govt’s support for investors in Enugu
Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State has said that his
administration will as a matter of policy continue to create
investment friendly environment for investors to thrive in the state.
Governor Chime stated this through the Secretary to the State
Government, Mr. Amechi Okolo at the opening ceremony of the South-East
Zonal office of the Platinum Mortgage Bank in Enugu.
The Governor said that such investment friendly environment would help
ensure that Enugu not only retain its status as a regional capital status also
enhance the economic empowerment of the people.
He therefore used the occasion to renew his assurance to genuine and
potential investors in the state of adequate protection of their lives
and businesses.
The State Chief Executive commended the management of the bank for
deeming Enugu fit to house their regional headquarters and promised
that government would partner with them to ensure the success of their
operation.
According to him, “we assure you that in the event of problem you
encounter here in Enugu, do not hesitate to report to the state
government.’
Earlier in his address, the Managing Director and the Chief Executive
of the company, Mr. Emmanuel Ndubuisi Mbaka thanked Governor Chime for
creating conducive atmosphere for businesses and commercial activities
in the state.
Mr. Mbaka also expressed gratitude to the Governor for the allocation
of 20 hectares of land at Ugwuaji where the bank will build their
Mortgage Supermarket in Enugu.
He said that the Platinum Mortgage Bank has a rare gesture and
handsome package that would enable the people of the state and
South-East zone own a home.
In their separate Goodwill Messages, the Chairman of the Board, Mr.
Taiwo Bankola and Polycarp Ndukife the Managing Director of Bobb-El
Electronic West Africa Limited thanked the Governor of Enugu State,
Mr. Sullivan Chime and the good people of Enugu State for making their
dream come true. They assured the people of Enugu and the South East
zone in general that they will benefit from the packages which the
bank offers.
