Falcons are superior – Bayana Bayana coach

Banyana Banyana’s coach Vera Pauw has acknowledged that Nigeria’s Super Falcons have the advantage as they clash in today’s semi-final  match of the 9th African Women Championship.

The Super Falcons are favourite to win the game, however, judging from the form of the South African team particularly after their last match against Algeria, the game will not be a stroll in the park for the coach Okon tutored side.

The group stage matches tested Banyana’s resolve, but the Super Falcons are one team Pauw, a former Dutch international wished she had avoided.

“Nigeria have had three rest days while, on the other side, we have only two days. You need three days to recover from a game,” said Pauw.

“We know [that] we will be facing strength and pressure that we have not faced in the tournament.” Super Falcons captain Evelyn Nwabuoko said that they are not underrating the South Africans. “We watch them beat Algeria. We have trained so hard for them and we know just what to do to stop them from playing,”
