They gained ‘freedom’ when suspected gunmen violently pulled down the doors of the Kotokarfe Federal Prison and set free all the inmates, on November 2, 2014.
Comptroller of prison, Mallam Adamu Omale who disclosed this to newsmen in Lokoja said in all 31 inmates are back, noting that 24 voluntarily returned while seven were recaptured.
He appealed to all those who have been on the run to return to the prison in their own interest to avoid unpleasant consequences, pointing out that the organisation in collaboration with security operatives is working round the clock to re-arrest those on the run.
“Report strange faces in your community to the prison official in confidence and be rest assured that your identity will not be disclosed because lives are not safe with such groups of persons in your midst”, comptroller stated.
