Residents of Ajegunle area of Lagos State, have reportedly shared bitter experience during this year’s Christmas eve celebration.

Leadership reports that the Christmas celebration was low key in the area because of clashes among suspected cult groups and armed robbers who also took advantage of the development to rob innocent residents of their cash, mobile phones and other valuables.

It was gathered that cult clash in the Ajegunle area is almost becoming a daily occurrence but Wednesday night cult clash was worse as the cultists fought with cutlasses, axes, bottles and other dangerous weapon, leaving many streets littered with broken bottles.

A police source at the Ajegunle police station disclosed that police officers attached to the station had a Huge task trailing the gangs as they would operate for less than five minutes and disappear from the scene immediately.

He, however, revealed that the police arrested some of the hoodlums, and listed the areas mostly affected to include Barra, Bale Aiyetoro, Oduduwa, Layinka, Olowojeunjeje, Agungun, Alafua, Arumoh, Ojoh, Kehinde streets, among others.
