Man, 20, kills father with axe, drinks his blood in Enugu

The Police Command of Enugu State early this morning paraded a 20-year-old man for beheading his 70-year-old father and drinking his blood in a thick forest at Imufu village in Igboeze North Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect, identified as Ugwuany Chukwudi who hails from from Imufu village in Igboeze North LGA has allegedly beheaded his biological father, simply known as Ugwuanyi, with an axe.

How he was caught
An eyewitness said that "he was defecating when he heard a sharp cry of someone in pain. He immediately left what he was doing to see what was happening when he saw the suspect chopping off his father's head. He immediately left and alerted the vigilante who in turn alerted the police".

When the police stormed the scene of crime, the man was waving the axe, which he used to cut off his father’s head, and threatened to kill anybody that gets close to him.

“He was seen drinking the blood of his father.. The father's head was nowhere to be found" the Police PRO narrated.

The police is sure the murder is not unconnected ritual activities, promised to discover the real reason behind the ugly act.

Meanwhile, the remains of the victim has been deposited at the Enugu State Teaching Hospital, mortuary for autopsy.

I was hyptonized
The suspect, who was seen intermittently smiling and looking suspiciously calm, said he carried out the act after he heard a voice, which told him to go to his village and kill his father.

His uncle, Mr Jose, said that the suspect had been away from home for over 16 years years, adding “he just came back from Lagos State and killed his father”.
