The raid happened early Monday, about a week after Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, threatened attacks on Cameroon after the country’s military launched frequent assaults against the insurgents.

A Cameroon-based journalist, Bisong Eta, who tweeted about the attack, said it was prevented by the Cameroonian military and that peace had returned.

Boko Haram has leaded several invasions in Kolofata in the past, which was regularly resisted by the army.
The terrorists had in July last year kidnapped the wife of the country’s Vice Prime Minister, and a mayor in the region, Seini Boukar Lamine.
It was said the country’s officials entered into mediation talks with the sect leading to the release of those kidnapped.
Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau in his latest video cautioned President of Cameroon, Paul Biya, to suspend his country’s attack on the group or face payback.
Today’s attack came a day after explosions struck an open marketselling mobile handsets in the town of Potiskum in Yobe state, one of three Nigerian states after Adamawa and Borno that have been hit by Boko Haram.
