The president of the United States of America, Barrack Obama has said the February general elections in Nigeria would not be hampered by Boko Haram attacks.

Speaking on Monday, through Ms. Jen Psaki, one of his spokespersons in Washington, DC, Obama expressed optimism that the elections would be conducted peacefully.

The US leader called on the Nigerian government to ensure credible and peaceful elections that would reflect the will of the Nigerian people, despite all the terrible attacks from Boko Haram and other terrorist organizations.

According to him, the US remained committed to supporting Nigeria as it addresses the insurgency plaguing the nation and caused by Boko Haram.
