Speaking on Tuesday at a presidential rally held at the Pantami International Stadium, Gombe State, the APC presidential candidate revealed that any public official who betrayed the trust of Nigerians and illegally enriched himself under his administration would be made to face the full wrath of the law, Punch reports.

Buhari, who is a former head of state, also promised Nigerians that there would be no hiding place for corrupt elected officials, comprising governors and other government officials in his administration.
“We must do away with corruption as well as develop the Nigerian economy, if we are elected into office by the grace of God, any elected official that is elected or appointed to serve under me must be transparent, because if any of them embezzles public funds, he will face the consequences,” he said.
Buhari, who also promised to increase electricity supply in all parts of the country, said he would resuscitate moribund industries in order to create employment for the teeming youths.

“Our youths are suffering and walking round the streets without employment but we will strive to make them gainfully employed, so as to disengage them from vices that can destroy their future,” Buhari said.

He said he would map out ways to make sure Nigeria partner with advanced countries to refurbish the agricultural sector, adding that schools would not be left out as qualified teachers would also be recruited.

Speaking also at the rally, APC National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, urged Nigerians to vote massively for the party in the forthcoming general elections in order to guarantee progress and development.

Oyegun also called on party supporters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards so as to have the opportunity to elect candidates of their choice.
Speaking also, Senator Danjuma Goje, the state’s party leader, described Buhari as the architect of change.

Goje urged APC supporters to vote out the Peoples Democratic Party by coming out in large number on the election day.

He also advised them to defend their votes by ensuring that the votes were counted in their presence.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya, the state’s APC gubernatorial candidate expressed optimism that the party would win elections in the state come February 14 and 28.

Buhari might have started gaining the support of key northern governors as it was reported that the Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu, said he has forgiven the APC presidential candidate for truncating his political ambitions despite the fact that before now Aliyu has always noted that the call for change is unnecessary.
