President Goodluck Jonathan marked St. Valentine’s Day in a special way, hosting dinner for widows and children of soldiers who died fighting Boko Haram.

Years of insurgency have claimed thousands of lives, including those of civilians and military personnel who did their best to protect Nigeria from insurgents.

Symbolically, Jonathan spent the day of love with the families of the brave soldiers who perished on the battlefield.

See the touching photos provided by presidential spokesman and media adviser, Reuben Abati.
