The Nigerian government has gotten the full support of
the United Nation (UN) to completely crush the Boko Haram terrorist
group from the surface of the earth.
It was reported by the Nigerian Pilot that the UN Secretary General, Mr Ban Ki Moon, gave the backing on Tuesday.
A former Chairman of the ECOWAS and representatives of the UN Secretary General for Nigeria and West Africa, Mr Ibn Chambers, made this known after a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Chambers revealed that the UN Department of Peace Keeping would be providing a commanding control and unity of purpose among the different countries contributing troops towards the total eradication of the Islamist sect (Boko Haram).
He said the United Nations secretary who also spoke on Nigeria’s forthcoming general elections, said the organization is optimistic that ‘all would be well with Nigeria.’
Mr Chambers, who urged politicians to exercise restraint and keep the process clean, said Boko Haram victims that were displaced, would get humanitarian support from the UN.

He also promised that the UN would provide humanitarian support to
the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to alleviate the plight
of the displaced persons.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon through
the commission’s spokesman, Stephane DuJarric had promised to help put an end to the Boko Haram insurgency ravaging Nigeria and other neighbouring countries.
Also, the UN’s approval is coming after the African Union (AU) had called on a five-nation force of 7, 500 troops to defeat what they termed as the “horrendous” rise of terrorist group, Boko Haram, in Nigeria.
It would be recalled that few hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the postponement of the country’s general elections by six weeks, the UN Secretary-General, Ki-moon, was one of those that first spoke with President Jonathan on the decision.
Meanwhile, the United State which is yet to offer tangible help in wiping out the Boko Haram sect from Nigeria was very swift in expressing disappointment through its Secretary of State John Kerry, over the dates shift of the general polls.
