The Nigerian police force AIG Zone 10, Sokoto State, has revealed what will happen to any political thug arrested with weapons during campaign rallies.
Bala Hassan, the AIG in charge of the zone on Thursday revealed that the command would no longer grant bail to any thug arrested with weapons during political rallies, Vanguard reports.
He said any political thug arrested with a knife, cutlass or any other type of deadly weapon will be charged to court, adding that the command will ensure thorough investigations to ensure that anyone indicted is duly prosecuted.
The AIG assured that the police in the zone would provide a level-playing ground for all the political parties in order to ensure the protection of lives and property before and after the forthcoming elections.
Hassan also stated that the command’s personnel will not fold their arms and allow political thugs to unleash terror before and after the polls.
