The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of planning to snatch away the victories recorded by it through various election petition tribunals across the states.

According to Premium Times, the party made this allegations following the outcome of a meeting of its National Working Committee and governor and Senators-elect under the party’s platform in Abuja on Tuesday, April 21.

The party warned that the APC had put plans in place to ensure that it truncates and subverts the freely given mandate by the people in the states and constituencies through the use of tribunals and ‘kangaroo’ arrangements.

Reading the outcome of the meeting through a communique, George Sekibo, a Senator-elect from Rivers state, described the impeachment moves by APC lawmakers in Ekiti state as shameless and undemocratic. The party criticised the lawmakers for engaging in what it called unconstitutional change of government.

The PDP also said it frowned at the “unprecedented level of intimidation, harassment and undue persecution of the party members since the INEC declaration of the APC candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.”

AS regards pending elections in Abia, Imo and Taraba states, it charged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to be forthright and impartial in the handling of the coming polls.

Having suffered colossal losses in the March 28 and April 11 elections. The outgoing ruling party has consistently accused the APC of stifling the opposition in a bid to institute a one party system in Nigeria.
