There was jubilation in Warri, Delta State, on Thursday, following the escape of Mrs. Carol Botosan, wife of the Secretary of Ugborodo Community Trust, from kidnappers’ den.

Isaac Botosan, who confirmed his wife’s escape from her abductors in a brief telephone chat with our reporter, said, “My wife escaped from the kidnappers this morning.”

The woman was snatched by a six-man gang along Ekpen Street in the oil city a fortnight ago.

She was reportedly driven away in her unmarked Toyota Venza car. But one of the criminals who drove the car was apprehended on the spot. His confession led to the arrest of several suspects.

However, the woman reportedly escaped from her captors on Thursday morning.

The news of her escape sparked celebration in the Itsekiri enclaves of Okere, Ajamimogha and other parts of the city.
