Edo State governor and former president of the Nigeria Labour congress (NLC) Adams Oshiomhole has said that Nigerians have lost confidence in the NLC claiming that the new leadership of the congress has a lot to do to reclaim its credibility.
According to leadership newspaper, Oshiomhole stated this during a courtesy visit he paid to the leadership of the NLC in Abuja. He stated most Nigerians have the belief that the NLC had gone to sleep in the last eight years.
Oshiomhole said the NLC must set economic agenda for the incoming government to protect the interest of workers.
He said the NLC must also dialogue with outgoing governors who are owing their workers salaries to ensure that all unpaid salaries are paid to workers before they handover.
Speaking on the economy, he said the PDP led administration has mismanaged the nation’s economy, lamenting that the incoming APC government will be inheriting a huge debt burden.
