APC Is Full Of Strange Leaders – Shelle

The embattled chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, Captain Olatunji Shelle, has described the leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC), as strange bedfellows who does not share common ideology.

Shelle made this remark when asked during an interview with our correspondent, if he thinks APC the leaders can successfully manage power.

According to him,“I wouldn’t be able to predict that but I know that they are strange bedfellows. They don’t share common ideology, they don’t have similar character and they don’t have anything in common.

“Somehow, one person or the other will feel short changed or threatened by the overbearing attitude of one against the other. Both characters are of extreme tendencies so I don’t see how they can work together.

“But I believe we should pray for them to succeed for the love of Nigeria but if they failed to perform, PDP will definitely come back. Majority of people holding key positions in APC today are former PDP members and they will come back to their base once their expectations are not met in APC,” he said.

Speaking further, Shelle expresses doubt that President Muhammadu Buhari may renege on his electioneering campaign promises to Nigerians.

“I hope the incoming president will not renege on some of the promises he had made. He promised to fight corruption, provide employment, he also promised to provide adequate security to Nigerians.

“But one thing I know is that he has not said anything about the power sector and this is the major thing affecting Nigerians.  If we don’t transform the power sector, there will be no job creation.

“Fighting corruption alone cannot transform into provision of infrastructure or rebuilding the nation. Everything should go side by side,” he said.

It would be recalled that the APC was formed in February 2013, the party is the result of an alliance by Nigeria’s four biggest opposition parties of different political parties who came together to form the party in February 2013.
