The applications for the preliminary objections to the petitions were filed by Okowa and his party, the PDP, DailyTimes had reported.
The Governorship candidate of Labour Party, Chief Great Ogboru and that of All Progressive Congress (APC), Olorogun O’tega Emerhor in two petitions are challenging the declaration of Okowa the winner of the April 11 gubernatorial election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Meanwhile, as the election tribunal issues loom, an Edo State lawmaker representing Estako West II constituency, Godwin Yakubu was removed few days ago making this year’s tribunal tough.
