FIFA Corruption Scandal Goes Into Film

The corruption scandal that is rocking the world football body, FIFA is going down as an entertaining documentary as it will be going into a film soon and this is authentic.

American actor-director, Ben Affleck has been commissioned to produce a feature film on the corruption that has rocked FIFA.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Affleck will team up with his childhood friend, Matt Damon, to produce the film which is based on a still-unpublished book authored by Buzzfeed investigative journalist Ken Bensinger.

The film is expected to focus on the role of whistle-blower, American Chuck Blazer, a former FIFA official.

Actor John Goodman had been pencil down as a possible option to portray the 70-year-old Blazer.

Warner Bros. won a bidding war for Houses of Deceit which chronicles the role of Blaze.

Blazer agreed to go undercover for FBI to help their investigation into the widespread corruption in the organization.

Blazer was the former general secretary of Concacaf between 1990 until 2011. He caused uproar when it was revealed that he had funded a lavish lifestyle through the organization including $6,000 per month apartment in Manhattan’s Trump Tower, reportedly for the exclusive use of his cats.

Nine FIFA officials were arrested few weeks back during a raid by the Swiss authorities over corruption charges at FIFA’s headquarters in Zurich.
