Obasanjo’s Sister Burial Holds June 6

The burial of the late younger sister to the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Madam Esther Adunni Eweje née Obasanjo, will hold on Saturday, June 6 in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The burial of the late younger sister to the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Madam Esther Adunni Eweje née Obasanjo, will hold on Saturday, June 6 in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

She died on Tuesday, May 19 in a private hospital at Ota, in Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state. She was aged 76.

In a press release signed by Mr. Abraham Akanle on behalf of the Obasanjo family on Sunday, Madam Eweje will begin her final journey home on Thursday, June 4, with a lying in state cum service of songs at the Obasanjo Farm House, Ota, at 5pm.

On Friday, June 5, there will be another lying in state and service of songs at Onijaiye Street, Sokori, opposite African Church Grammar School, Ita Eko, Abeokuta, at 5pm.

This will be followed on June 6 by the burial service at Owu Baptist Church, Totoro, Abeokuta.

Her remains will be interred thereafter at Owu Baptist Church Cemetery, Quarry Road, Abeokuta.

Akanle said entertainment of guests would follow at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, behind NNPC mega station, IBB Boulevard Junction, Abeokuta.
