The former Chairman of Kano state Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC), Sani Lawal Malumfashi, says the emergence of Senator Saraki as Senate president will affect the country negatively.

Malumfashi, in an interview with Leadership warned that Saraki’s political ambitions were in sharp contrast to the goals of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which is to redeem the country from the political and economic decay caused by the past administration of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Malumfashi cautioned that the alliance between Senator Saraki and the PDP members is a union capable of undermining the progress of the ruling party.

“For APC to succeed, it must have a dominant say in the two houses of Senate and House of Representatives, simply because it requires a like- minded people who have similarities of foresight, commonalities of vision and shared understanding about the true situation of the country and how to rescue the country from where it was to where it wants to be,” he explained

In the same vein, former chairman of the APC Bisi Akande has alleged that some persons opposed to president Muhammadu Buhari’s resolve to fight corruption influenced the emergence of Bukola Saraki as senate president.

He called on President Muhammadu Buhari and governors on the platform of the party to intervene in the continued crisis within the  party before it collapses,
