The police command in Plateau state reportedly arrested three persons suspected to be members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect on Tuesday, July 14, around Terminus area in Jos, the state capital.
The three suspects were said to be moving suspiciously around the market area and the traders alerted the police officers stationed at the area, Daily Trust reports.
They were apprehended and taken to the C. Division around Masalacin Jumma’a street.
According to Mohammed Auwal, a vendor in the area, the traders noticed the suspicious movement of the suspects after they parked and came down from a tinted Honda Accord vehicle and then went in different directions.
Zakari Ya’u Adamu, chairman of shoe sellers at the market said: “We divided ourselves into groups and went after them. At the beginning, they were trying to resist our interrogation, but when they noticed that some youths were ready to attack them, they cooperated.
