Ughelli town in Delta state recently witnessed a clash between rival cult gangs which disrupted activities in the town.

Suspected cultists attacked and maimed a rival gang member around Ughelli Central Garage, popularly referred to as Ughelli Urban in broad daylight.

The victim, identified as Kess Olotu, was later buried in his community at Otor-Iwhereko within Ughelli town.
According to a source, the attack was a revenge mission as the group was irked by the attack on one of their members.
They trailed and shot down the late Olotu, a suspected member of a rival cult, to serve as a deterrent to his group.
Speaking to Vanguard, a member of Ughelli local vigilante and senior executive of Otor-Iwhereko, said: “Immediately we got report of the incident, we mobilised and chased the boys leading to the shooting and arrest of one of them by the police.”

Meanwhile, the Edo state police command have arrested 30 suspected cultists and 20 kidnapping suspects as it re-launch war against cultism and kidnapping in the state.
