The Governor of Enugu State, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has assured the
people of the state that he will run an all inclusive government by
consulting stakeholders in major decisions that affect the people.
Governor Ugwuanyi gave the assurance while speaking when traditional
rulers, leaders of thought, PDP stakeholders, top government officials
and sons and daughters from Enugu West Senatorial District paid thank
you visit to the immediate past Governor of the state, Mr. Sullivan
Chime at Udi town his country home.
The Governor told the people of the zone that no section of the state
will be discriminated against in the distribution of amenities, adding
that 9th Mile Corner Ngwo and Oji River will be developed into major
urban centres while the San Carlos Pineapple farm Awgu will receive
government attention.
He described as historic the thank you visit to his predecessor, Mr.
Chime, by the people from the three geopolitical zones of the state
and thanked them for demonstrating in concrete terms their
appreciation of his achievements in the state in the past eight years
of administration.
Governor Ugwuanyi used the occasion to renew his appeal to the people
for their continued prayers and supports to enable him execute his
administrations agenda to develop the state, especially the rural
areas.
In his speech, the former Governor of the State, Mr. Chime, expressed
gratitude to the people of Enugu State for appreciating what he was
able to achieve during his eight years in office and attributed it to
their prayers, co-operation and support.
The former Governor used the occasion to apologize to those he must
have offended in one way or the other in the course of discharging his
official duties, adding that such action was taken in the over all
interest and development of the state.
He also urged the local government council chairmen in the state to
support his successor, Governor Ugwuanyi and used their remaining
months in office to complete all the on-going developmental projects
they embarked upon in their council areas to compliment his efforts.
