Meet Costasiella kuroshimae (or ‘leaf sheep’ for short). This adorable little sea slug has beady eyes, cute feelers and looks like a cartoon sheep. It feeds on algae, can grow up to 5mm in length and can be found near Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines. ‘Leaf sheep’ is one of the only animals in the world that can perform photosynthesis. When sea slugs eat algae, they suck out the chloroplasts and incorporate them into their own bodies. They use the chloroplasts to manufacture their own energy. (H/t: Boredpanda)
