The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has nullified the election of Hon Olu Josiah of Eleme Constituency and the only All Progressive Congress (APC) member in the Rivers House of Assembly.
The court also ordered for rerun elections in four wards within 60 days.
Eleme Constituency has ten wards. Hon Josiah Olu is of the APC. Isaac Khamalu of the PDP challenged the decision of the tribunal that struck out his petition and upholding the election of Josiah Olu. But the Court of Appeal has ordered for rerun election in four of Eleme’s 10 wards where electoral defects were established.
Josiah Olu APC would slug it out with Isaac Khamalu of PDP a rerun within 60 days.though would have a smooth sail.
Contrary to the earlier reports,Evans Bipi,of PDP, the lawmaker representing Ogu/Bolo constituency and aide to Mrs Patience Jonathan, Wife former President Goodluck Jonathan won in the Court of Appeal thereby retaining his mandate.

Declaring Hon Victoria Nyeche winner,the two- tenure legislator of APC is already being speculated by some political analysts as the lawmaker pencilled down as next Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, and subsequently the Acting Governor in the event that the Supreme Court dismisses the Appeal of Governor Nyesom Wike and orders for a rerun.
For Port Harcourt Constituency 1 between Hon Victoria Nyeche of the APC has been Challenging Hon Ogbonda Jones Nwene of the PDP was detailed to declare the Later winner of the Port Harcourt Constituency 1 election.
The court of Appeal today in its Judgement ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to issue Certificate of Return to Hon Victoria Nyeche as member representing Port Harcourt Constituency 1 in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
So far Hon.Victoria Nyeche is luckiest of APC candidates who reclaimed her mandate and certificate of return at the Court of Appeal.

Recently, the Rivers state House of Assembly sacked the council chairman of the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government council, Augustine Ahiamadu.
This comes after Governor Nyesom Wike had written a letter to the House in which he requested the immediate dissolution of the council led by Ahiamadu following the incessant killing and violence in the area.
