Ogboru was challenging the judgment of the state Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which affirmed the elction of  Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

However, in his ruling on Thursday, December 24, Justice Uwani Abba-Aji said that Ogboru’s appeal lacked merit and further upheld the tribunal ruling, which had earlier dismissed the Labour Party’s guber candidate petition.
