Emergency medical service workers in Rivers state have appealed to Governor Nyesom Wike to pay them their thirteen-month old salaries.

Chairman of the Workers, Allwell Wali made this appeal when a team of the workers visited the governor in Port Harcourt.

Wali on behalf of his group, lauded Wike for approving the payment of the backlog of salaries owed them but expressed surprise that they were yet to be paid weeks after the governor approved that their salaries be paid.

The workers also urged Governor Wike not to allow some persons in the system truncate his goodwill to them by ensuring that their salaries are released to them this week so that they can have blissful Christmas and new year celebrations.
