Photos: Ruling In Dasuki’s Bail Application Adjourned

The bail application of the former National Security Adviser (NSA), has been adjourned by Justice Sani Yusuf of Abuja High Court.

Dasuki and four others earlier today, December 15 pleaded not guilty to 22-count charges against them. The accused persons are an ex-finance director and administrator at the Office of the National Security Adviser, Shuaibu Salisu; former minister of state for finance Bashiru Yuguda and a former governor of Sokoto state, Attahiru Bafarawa and his son Dalhatu Bafarawa.

Dasuki and the others had on Monday, December 14, filed for bail after pleading not guilty to the 19-count charge brought against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC).

After over two hours of arguments and counter-arguments from counsel to both parties, Justice Yusuf adjourned bail ruling to Friday, December 18.

After listening to arguments by Ahmed Raji and Rotimi Jacobs, the defending and prosecuting counsels respectively, the judge over the matter, Sani Baba-Yusuf set ruling for Friday.

The accused persons are to remain in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) till the adjourned date.

Dasuki and the others persons  – Baba Kusa, former finance director and administrator at the Office of the National Security Adviser Shuaibu Salisu and Acacia company and Refrence Referral Hospital are being accused of misappropriation of funds and criminal abuse of trust.

Speaking to journalists, Raji said the charges against his clients is a billable offence.

“Under the new law, anything that involves money is bailbale and the new law is not insisting on imprisoning,  plea bargaining is also obtainable,” Raji said.

The former NSA was former arraigned  before Justice Peter Affen of court 24 on Tuesday, December 15 alongside a former governor of Sokoto state, Attahiru Bafarawa, his son Dallatu Bafarawa and two others.

They were also accused of misappropriation of public funds, although they pleaded not guilty to all charges against them.

Meanwhile, Senator Jim Nwobodo, a chieftain of PDP . He said he did not receive funds from former minister of state for finance, Bashir Yuguda.
