Osun state governor, Olusegun Mimiko has rewarded the Sunshine Queens FC for winning the 2015 Federation cup on Sunday, November 22.

The governor made this known at the dinner organised for the ladies on Monday, December 7, at the Ondo state government house in Akure.

Mimiko said: “We want the best for Sunshine Queens. I’m so proud of your outstanding performance and I want to thank you all for justifying the investment of the Ondo State Government in the team.”

“We promised to celebrate success and that’s why we organised a state dinner for the golden Sunshine Queens. I thank the wonderful people of Ondo state for the massive support for the Sunshine Queens.” he added.

The Ondo State team defeated Bayelsa Queens 3-1 in penalty kicks in the final match played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos. This is their major domestic trophy since the past 39years.
