Not long after Dino Melaye violated Nigeria’s law by having a foreign account, a special report has revealed the recent transaction done on the account.

Recall that two days ago, Sahara Reporters revealed that Senator Melaye who has been a crusader of anti-corruption had been illegally operating bank accounts in the United States. The foreign bank accounts which he opened in Maryland and had been operating since 2010 has him impersonating as a student with the name “Daniel Din Melaye.”

However, Sahara Reporters has further revealed more details about his transactions in the United States, including the use of one of the accounts for a tattoo removal of his ex-wife’s name from his body. Further investigations revealed that the controversial senator was one of the three senators that accompanied the senate president, Bukola Saraki to New York to participate in the 4th United Nations Conference of Parliamentary Heads at the United Nations on August 31. This, Senator Melaye used as an opportunity to have the dermatological procedure. Senators Andy Uba and Shehu Sani were the other two that went to the conference alongside Melaye.

When Sahara Reporters contacted the dermatological company, an associate with the company confirmed that “a man with the name Dino Melaye paid for a tattoo removal on September 1,” adding that: “his payment was paid directly in the office on the day of the procedure.” The  Schweiger dermatological company’s associate went further to show the credit card evidence and file photos of his procedure in his file.

“I can see that there is a man in the photos getting a tattoo removed from his upper arm, near his shoulder, ” the associate said. When the company’s associate was stylishly quizzed further about what kind of tattoo the senator removed, the associate replied, “It is a person’s name, the name is ALERO,” spelling A-L-E-R-O’ for a Sahara Reporter correspondent over the phone.

It was impossible for someone else to have made the transaction on Senator Melaye’s card because Schweiger Dermatology only accepts a credit card payment if the card user has a proper ID which matches the name on the credit card.

Recall that Senator Melaye was briefly married to one Mrs. Alero Falope before their matrimony ended in 2014 amidst allegations that he had physically abused Alero over the course of their marriage.
