Speaker Dogara Reveals What Will Happen If FG Fails Nigerians This Time

Hon. Yakubu Dogara, the Speaker of the House of Representative has reportedly threatened the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government on the consequences of failed promises to Nigerians.

The Speaker, who played host to Bauchi state Governor, Mohammed Abubakar, in Abuja, on Thursday, December 10, threatened that it would be a disaster if the government failed Nigerians, NAN reports.

He, therefore, pleaded with the federal government to make frantic efforts to fulfill the promises made to Nigerians.

Dogara stated that the present administration became a reality because the people’s yearning for change in their lives, saying that was why the party got huge support during the general election that ushered in the new government.

“Our people have witnessed bad leadership, especially in the ‎last eight years; it will be a disaster if we don’t save this situation,” he said.

The number one man in the House of Reps while buttressing his position used Bauchi state as an example, saying the people of the state gave overwhelming support to the APC in all the elections into the two arms of government, following their believe in the change mantra that will better their lives.

“Everybody knows the passion of our people in Bauchi State; they embraced us against all odds, against the sitting governor, because they feared the kind of situation in which they found themselves under the last regime.

“They needed change and thank God we came with this promise of change, adding that the platform had been established to deliver the change‎.

“It now behooves on us to pull our energies together, synergize and to ensure that these people that the president has appointed help to ameliorate the conditions of our people,” Dogara said.

The Speaker pleaded with Abubakar to make sure that he unites all federal government appointees from the state so that he can harness their resources for the progress and development of Bauchi state.

“If there is no leadership, this will not happen, and the difference between a bush and a garden is just organisation.

“If you have a ‎wonderful garden and you don’t organise it, over time it will become a bush in itself.

“That therefore means that without leadership, we will not even come together, let alone bring our resources and strength together to improve the conditions of our people,” he said.

Speaking earlier during the visit, Abubakar explained that his reason for visiting the Speaker was to identify with him on his desire to stabilise the polity.

“The task of stabilising the polity is herculean and requires men and women who have clarity of thoughts and ability to stabilse the polity to occupy the positions such as that occupied by the speaker,” he said.

Abubakar extolled all the lawmakers in the 8th National Assembly and expressed optimism they perform and make their various constituents and country proud.

The speaker of the House of Representatives who is very passionate about Nigeria, recently said that President Muhammadu Buhari and other leaders require divine wisdom in order to solve the numerous problems the country was facing.
