Adesope who commended the efforts of the law enforcement agencies as well as other security stakeholders for their efforts in the outgoing year 2015, also urged security agents to enable complainants be confident to report suspected crime, adding that it is not an easy task.
He said: “Security should be the priority of everyone. The process of achieving it is not pleasant. A whole lot of people out there who want to help the law enforcement agents in curbing all forms of criminalities in our society, but they are scared of becoming victims.
“My candid advice is that we don’t have to get to the Police Station before we report any strange activity to the police. We can make our report through telephone.
Adesope also reiterated the OPC Reformed’s commitment to assist government at all levels as regards security of lives and property.
“The urge to support the law enforcement agents in curbing crime is in all members of Oodua People’s Congress (Reformed) but where is the support if the government at all levels can come to our aid they will get the desired result through us. Are the Civilian Joint Task Force not trying?
“Concerning our group, it is what we have done before and we can still repeat it if we are called upon for assistance. We should not forget the fact that it is only in a peaceful environment that business can thrive.
“What we desire most in this country now is CHANGE and not just CHANGE but positive one. To achieve this, I want all the religious leaders to pray without ceasing so that the Almighty God can use President Buhari to get the positive change that we desire. With God all things are possible,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) has told Nigerians how they can help President Muhammadu Buhari recover stolen loots.
In an interview with Channels television, the Lagos-based lawyer said Nigerians must own the ongoing war against corruption to make it effective.
