Hello in 2016, dear Nigerians! Are you enjoying this lazy, unhurried post-New Year time of guest-hosting, pastry-baking and plan-making? The time when nothing disturbs, nothing bothers, and the days lying ahead seem to bring nothing but happiness.
Spending time in pleasant idleness one could hardly imagine that there may be someone for whom the festive period is another day of incessant struggle for existence.
Onyegbule Kingsley Arinze contacted Naij.com a couple of days ago via e-mail to tell a story of a homeless man he found along the Lagos-Benin expressway in front of an old Mobil fuel station. A man’s name is John Mensah, he is a 55-year-old Ghanian, his wife and children named David and Godwin left Ghana 10 years ago. He used to be a tailor before he had felt ill and got fired. Onyegbule Arinze has been trying to reach Mensah’s Ghanian fellows, however, all efforts have proved fruitless.
Unfortunately, no additional information concerning John Mensah is available; below we provide his photo and the extracts form Arinze’s message he shared on Facebook. If you have any information that may be of help, be sure to contact us at info@naij.com, or reach Onyegbule Kingsley Arinze directly via his Facebook account.

“Sometimes it pains me most seeing people pretending to be samples of Jesus characteristics; they go to church, fellowships, pay tithe, and whatsoever done in the church, but the fact is we live in a timid wicked nation Nigeria… If not for the fear of God, I would have asked how many men of God have stopped by along the road to assist that sick and helpless man, whose friends, family and relatives have deserted due to the fear of being prosecuted regardless of their innocence… People are busy posting several pictures on Facebook, while the poor are living in penury…
“Please, this man needs help. Everyone has deserted him, he is been thrown out of the house; now he has been staying in a nearby bush along the Lagos-Benin-Ibadan expressway for two weeks now. He is still alive; please, he needs your help to contact any of his Ghana people. This is not the time to judge.”
