According to Leadership newspaper, Onu said the policies and programmes of the past administration contributed to the difficulty in the smooth take off of the Buhari government.
He revealed that most agencies in the ministries are moribund and said that the present administration is committed to the revitalisation of all the moribund agencies and facilities in the country.
On his part, Onu expressed his determination to reposition the Ministry of Science and Technology to make it vibrant and create employment opportunities for the teeming youths in the country.
Onu called on the people of Ebonyi State to support the Buhari-led administration as the state cannot afford to be in opposition. He added that the state has tremendous potentials and must support the federal government to harness them.
He also dismissed claims by some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that he visited Governor David Umahi to mend fences with him saying he has no problem with the governor but that he visited him to console him on the demise of his mother.
He said: “I usually visit anyone that loses his/her parent irrespective of political affiliation as I know the pains of losing a parent which had happened to me when I lost my father and mother”.
Earlier, the Ebonyi state acting chairman of the party who lead the delegation to visit Onu, Pastor Eze Nwachukwu told the minister that the APC leaders came to celebrate with him. He said the party in the state is now united and poised to win future elections in the state.
