– PSG attacker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been accused of doping
– Doctor Ulf Karlsson claims the Swede doped during his time at Juve
– Zlatan played for Juve between 2004 and 2006
PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been accused of doping by former Swedish athletics team doctor Ulf Karlsson during his time at Juventus between 2004 and 2006.
The Sunday Times had over the weekend published a piece in which they claimed a doctor in London said he had doped over 150 athletes, including a number of Premier League players.
Reacting to the news, Karlsson said Juventus were notorious for doping and claimed Ibrahimovic who was with the club between 2004 and 2016 was among their players doped.
Quoted by SportBladet, Karlsson said: “Ibrahimovic put on 10 kilograms in only six months during his time at Juventus. I think he doped, at least this is what I believe. Albin Ekdal also put on eight kilograms of weight during his period with the Bianconeri.

“I think this is a culture that exists at Juventus. They had a doctor who had previously been convicted for 22 months. We had a debate on all the negative aspects of sport and doping and we highlighted what happened at Juventus in the early 2000s.”
The doctor however denied he was personally targeting the 34 year old Swede said: “It’s a shame to perceive this as a personal accusation of Zlatan. My statement was aimed at creating a discussion on doping in team sports.”
Ibrahimovic is out of contract in the summer and has already told his club PSG that he would not be renewing his contract.
Interest in the big striker is high with the likes of Arsenal, West Ham, Manchester United all said to be monitoring him though a move would be almost impossible due to his wage demands.
