– The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign States of Biafra (MASSOB) has revealed what Nigeria will experience as long as Nnamdi Kanu remains in jail
– MASSOB in a statement issued by Samuel Edeson said it has concluded plans to expose the evil plot against Biafra at an international conference on the rights of indigenous people and self-determination
The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign States of Biafra (MASSOB) has told Nigeria what will happen if the director of radio Biafra and leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu remains in detention.
Reports reveal that the group in a statement issued on Thursday, April 7, by its national director of information, Samuel Edeson, said Nigeria will continue to suffer as longer as Kanu remains in detention.
He revealed that the group has concluded plans to expose the evil plot against “Biafra at an International Conference on the Rights of Indigenous People and self-determination ‘which will be held in a Western European country in no distant time.”
The group in the statement also promised to make public Nigeria’s plot with the British government to subject Ndigbo to political, religious, academically, economic, social and cultural slavery.
“The Leader of MASSOB, Mr. Uchenna Madu was invited alongside other World leaders of self-determination groups, saying that he will attend the conference with 7 man delegation of MASSOB National Executive officials.
“MASSOB will also pressurize and insist on the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu of IPOB, Benjamin Onwuka of BZM and 23 Biafran detainees at Awka and Onitsha prison since 2006. We demand the unconditional release of our brother, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu (IPOB Leader and others) whose cases cannot be justified by Nigeria government. Their continued detention has exposed the incompetency and bias mind of Nigeria judiciary.
“The more Nnamdi Kanu is being detained, the more Nigeria suffers diplomatic damages and shame. MASSOB will continue to partner with IPOB, lower Niger Congress and Biafran groups in diaspora for genuine agitation. We shall never relent as Nigeria persecution, arrest, detention and killings will never deter us from pressing for Biafra.
“MASSOB said during the Conference, its leader, Comrade Madu will expose the evil plot against Biafra by Nigeria in collaboration with the British Government as evidently shown in the political structure of Nigeria which grievously and eternally subjected Ndigbo to political, religious, academically, economic, social and cultural slavery in Nigeria,” the statement reads.
This Day reports that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Wednesday, April 6, accused Justice John Tsoho, the trial judge handling the case of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu and two others of being biased. The group condemned the decision of the judge to instituted a secret trial for Kanu.
IPOB disclosed that the lawyer of the Department of State Service (DSS), Idakwo, who was “the lead interrogator” of Kanu and his co-detainees while in DSS, has been permitted to join the prosecuting team headed by Mohammed Labaran, though he was initially barred from appearing as prosecution counsel.
Meanwhile, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has changed the lead solicitor in the defence team representing Kanu. According to a statement issued by Emma Mmezu and Clifford Iroanya, IPOB’s spokespersons, Vincent Obetta’s services were terminated as he was no longer capable of handling such high profile matter.
